Celebrating Excellence in Creative Production

About the DMV Film and Performing Arts Honors

The DMV Film and Performing Arts Honors is a prestigious gathering that provides a dynamic platform for innovation, real-world ideas, and forward-leading thoughts in the realms of film and performing arts. Designed to celebrate excellence, the event shines a spotlight on the unsung heroes in the industry “the production crew”. These individuals, who often do not receive the recognition they deserve, will be the stars of the show. It truly takes a team to create magic, and this day is dedicated to honoring those who make it happen behind the scenes. Join us for a day of celebration, inspiration, and the “Magic that makes it happen,” as we recognize the invaluable contributions of the production crew and push the boundaries of creativity and excellence in film and performing arts.

A tribute to Antonio "Ka Zarr" Coleman
January 14, 1966 - October 12, 2024

The DMV has lost an extraordinary filmmaker who served as a shining example of creativity in the film industry. Over nearly two decades, Antonio “Ka Zarr” Coleman earned recognition as a 22-time award-winning international indie filmmaker. His talents extended beyond filmmaking, encompassing motivational speaking, authorship, cinematography, and shoe design. During the events, we will honor Ka Zarr’s dedication, passion, and achievements by presenting a tribute as a true visionary who made a lasting impact on many lives.
