Filmmaker, Producer, Director @ Panelist
Award-Winning Filmmaker Anthony E. Commodore, CEO of Commodore Independent Filmworks, LLC (CIF) (est 2017) is a Maryland native who is motivated by passion and innovation across a wide range of production. His film production company is leading the charge among the industry’s elitist providing the highest production quality and experience from conception to completion by making his customer’s needs the number one priority. Commodore’s industry credentials include Associate Producer on Paramount/BET’s “So Fly Christmas” (2023) and “One Night Stay” (2023) and likewise Producer on such features as “Liam White” (year) airing on ROKU, and Director of Photography on the documentary “Finding Kendrick Johnson” (year) airing on STARZ. “Undeniable” (2019) – The Tray Chaney Story was awarded Best Documentary, Best Sound, Best Editor and Best Actor while featured on the film festival circuit.
When we backtrack to Commodore’s beginning, his start in the film industry began as a stage play actor late 2007 and film actor in 2008. Since the rebranding of his first production company from MalaCom Production (established 2010) to CIF, the multi-faceted Commodore Independent Filmworks has extensively written, produced and directed to expand its repertoire of loglines, synopsis’, treatments and scripts to projects such as “Why Us” (2012), being his most cherished first full length horror film. Notably, Commodore Independent Filmworks is the creator of the very first African-American female-led Anime series, titled “Hidden Hero” (year).
Although production spans the U.S., in 2022, Commodore found personal solitude in his native of Maryland. He created six amazing projects, two Christmas projects, two features, and wrote and produced pilot episodes of an intriguing faith-based drama series, “Mercy Rd.” As CIF explores distribution of “Mercy Rd.” we must recall the pilot episode screening in Maryland that became its proof of concept and was attended by talent based nationwide. Commodore Independent Filmworks is championing an initiative that expands workforce and economic development in Maryland.
