Sydney J. Harrison was first elected in 2018 to serve a four-year term on the Prince George’s County Council, representing as Councilman District 9. He was reelected in the November 2022 General Election for a second term. In 2021, 2022, and 2024, he was selected by his colleagues to serve as the Council’s Vice-Chair. During his tenure, Council Member Harrison has been appointed to key leadership roles, including serving three times as Chairman of the Education & Workforce Development Committee, and as Chairman of the Health, Human Services & Public Safety Committee.

Mr. Harrison is deeply committed to community service, nonprofit engagement, and global missionary work. His advocacy has focused on raising awareness for domestic violence victims, supporting and feeding the homeless, and championing foster care youth.
